Okmulgee County Jail Roster Overview

The county jail is run by the Okmulgee County Criminal Justice Authority, known as OCCJA. The authority was created in 2002 under Title 60 of Oklahoma statutes to manage the county's jail facilities. The Okmulgee County Sheriff's Office links to the same roster from its own site. OCCJA uses an online vendor system to publish the live inmate list, and that list updates as people are booked in and released. At one inspection the active roster held about 104 people. The roster is a public service tool, but OCCJA states the data is informational only and carries no guarantee of accuracy.

The roster shows local custody. It lists people held in the Okmulgee County jail before trial, on local holds, or under federal and tribal contract beds. It does not show every person tied to the county justice system. Sentenced state prisoners, federal inmates housed elsewhere, and people released on bond will not appear. A name that drops off the roster usually means a release, a transfer, or a posted bond. The court case can still be open even after the jail record clears.

How to Use the Okmulgee County Inmate Roster

Okmulgee County Jail Facilities

OCCJA runs more than one building. Total detainee capacity across both detention facilities tops 500. The main jail opened in 2002, and the Moore Detention Center opened in 2016 to add state and federal contract beds. A third site handles maintenance and shipping only and houses no inmates. Booking Into the Okmulgee County Jail

Okmulgee County Jail Visitation Schedule

Visits run on a fixed weekly schedule tied to the housing pod. Visitors must be preapproved, must bring a valid photo ID, and each visit lasts 30 minutes. Visits are first-come, first-served unless prior arrangements have been approved, and OCCJA can change the times based on availability. The schedule below lists each pod and its set day.

Age rules apply to younger visitors. A visitor 15 and under needs approval from the chaplain. A visitor 16 to 18 needs approval from the watch commander. A visitor 18 or older may attend during regular hours. Only one visitor per inmate is allowed unless staff authorize more, and a dress code is enforced at the door.

How to Contact an Okmulgee County Inmate

Mail, phone, and video are the main ways to reach someone inside. Letters travel through the U.S. Postal Service. Every piece of mail must carry the full first and last name and address for both sender and recipient, or the jail returns it. Commissary and Inmate Funds

Money for an inmate account runs through Tiger Commissary. Family and friends can deposit funds online, and the inmate uses that balance for approved commissary items. Keeping a small balance on the books lets an inmate buy basics and pay for calls.
